Does Eagle Scout Matter

That is exactly the question that a couple of grad-students at Baylor University are hoping to answer over the next two years!

Send me the $1,000,000 for my unit and I will give them 10+ years of knowledge and success stories... WITHOUT A DOUBT, YES, EAGLE SCOUT MATTERS!

Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser

All,

Attached is the flyer for Buffalo Wild Wings – patrons must bring the flyer with them in order for us to receive 15%.  By the way – I’ve come up with a name for these events - - - “Get Out the Scouts”.  Please pass this flyer on to everyone and anyone.  Encourage them to go to Buffalo Wild Wings – remember the District Committee Meeting will be at BWW on the 15th!

Leaders and parents– please spread the word – pass these out at work – email them to family and friends – pass them out to neighbors – pass them out to strangers!  Let’s GET OUT THE SCOUTS!

Yours in Scouting,

Kim Johnson, Troop 774

Tuocs District Committee Member-at-Large

PS - I do have Moe’s Southwestern Grill booked for May 5th (Cinco de Mayo!)

Here is the flyer to pass around!

Solidarity with Haiti: Call for international donations

Geneva, January 14th 2010 -- After the violent quake which struck Haiti, World Scouting is mobilizing in order to help the 30,000 Scouts of Haiti so that they can come to the aid of the stricken population.  In the name of World Scouting, as message of solidarity and compassion, was sent to Haitian Scouts, even though it is very difficult to get into contact with them for the moment.  A volunteer cooperation specialist from "Scouts et Guides de France" (Scouts and Guides of France) is on site in Port-aux-Princes, to support the coordination of the international Scout aid.

A precise indication of what the needs are of the stricken families in terms of goods of first necessity, as been made possible thanks to the contacts, although limited, that have been made at this time.  In fact, the 30,000 Haitian Scouts are essential relays between the emergency NGOs and the local population.  Their action during the hurricane of 2008, has shown their capacity to act efficiently in operations of clearing, cleaning, decontamination and also by taking care of children that have been left to their own devices, as well as by building emergency camps.
